Success!

Following our recent litter pick along Binsey Lane on 7 March 2026, I raised concerns with Christ Church via Cllr Pressel after we found significant litter in the fenced-off fields adjacent to the road.

I’m pleased to report that Christ Church have now acted. This has been confirmed by the Christ Church Director of Investment, Property and Planning.

Savills will instruct a clean-up across the areas under their control and ask tenants to clear litter on the land they manage. It’s good to see a prompt response.

The litter pick itself, organised by the local Labour Party as part of OxClean, brought together 13 West Oxonians on Saturday the 7th of March 2026. We cleared Binsey Lane from Botley Road through to Binsey Village and The Perch. What started as a clean-up turned into a very enjoyable and social morning, with plenty of enthusiasm for doing it again soon.
