The 3/3A bus route is set to run all the way to Oxford railway station from 9 November. This comes after over 1,100 residents signed Labour’s petition calling on Oxfordshire County Council and the Oxford Bus Company to make the change earlier this year.

The route to the city centre currently terminates at Westgate – some distance from the station. That means for residents living on Rose Hill, in Donnington, or near the Iffley Road, travelling by bus to the railway station currently takes the best part of an hour. This is a journey that would take under 20 minutes by car or bike.

Cllr Ed Turner, City Councillor for Rose Hill & Iffley, said: “This will be a big relief to people along the Iffley Road, and is long something we have called for.  The withdrawal of the direct service to the station some years ago hit people hard, and we are glad to see it returning.”
